Frederick R. MacLean, Jr., CFA, CFP
Fred MacLean, Jr. is a founding partner and President of Heritage Investment Group.
Fred holds a B.A. degree from Washington College and an M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic
University. Fred holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
and is a member of its sponsoring organization, the CFA Institute, formerly the
Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR). Fred is also
a member of the South Florida Society of Financial Analysts and a member of the
Financial Planning Association (FPA). He is an active member of the local
Rotary club and currently sits on its endowment board. As President of Heritage,
his duties include oversight and direction of the firm’s asset allocation
strategies, sales and client servicing.
Timothy G. Slattery, MBA
Tim Slattery is a founding partner of Heritage Institutional Advisors, the institutional
consulting division of Heritage Investment Group. Tim holds a bachelors
degree in finance with high honors from the University of Florida and an M.B.A.
from the University of Chicago. Tim is fluent in Spanish and is currently
pursuing a Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of South Florida. Tim’s
career in the financial services industry began as an investment banker with Smith
Barney, where he underwrote public bond offerings for municipalities throughout
Florida and the Southeast. After earning his M.B.A., Tim served as a Vice
President of Institutional Sales with Raymond James and Associates, where he provided
investment advice to equity portfolio managers at leading financial institutions
throughout the Midwest. As a partner of Heritage, his duties include asset
allocation strategy, research, marketing, and client servicing.
S. Hardy Taylor, CIMA, CIMC
Hardy Taylor is Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of Heritage Investment
Group and joined the firm five months after its inception in 1993. Hardy
holds a B.A. degree from Washington College and an M.B.A. from Florida Atlantic
University. Hardy is a Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC)
as well as a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA). Hardy is also
a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) and an active
member of the local Rotary club. As Vice President of the firm, Hardy’s
primary duties include client servicing, overall asset allocation strategies and
SEC and state regulatory compliance.
Craig C. Chuang
Craig Chuang is a Portfolio Manager at Heritage Investment Group. Craig holds a BBA degree in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and has completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst program. Craig began his career as a financial advisor with American Express where he provided comprehensive financial planning advice. Prior to joining Heritage, Craig worked for six years as a Financial Consultant with Charles Schwab & Company where he developed and maintained client relationships through investment analysis and portfolio management. His primary responsibilities at Heritage include portfolio management, client servicing and marketing.
Stacy L. Bliss
Stacy Bliss is a Portfolio Manager at Heritage Investment Group. Stacy began his career sixteen years ago with J.W. Gant & Associates and later with Euro-Atlantic Securities. Prior to joining Heritage, Stacy worked for ten years as a Financial Consultant and Acting Branch Manager with Charles Schwab & Company. While at Schwab, Stacy developed and maintained client relationships providing portfolio management and investment analysis. Stacy’s primary responsibilities at Heritage include portfolio management, client service and business development.
Frederick R. MacLean, Sr., Esq.
Frederick MacLean, Sr. is a founding partner of the law firm of MacLean &
Ema and a founder of Heritage Investment Group. Fred holds a bachelor’s
degree from Johns Hopkins University and a Juris Doctorate (JD), cum laude, from
the University of Miami. Fred is a past president of the Pompano Beach Chamber
of Commerce, past president of the Pompano Economic Group, a member of the local
Rotary club and has been a very active community leader for more than thirty-five
years. Fred’s law practice specializes in estate planning and he is
listed in the publication Law and Leading Attorneys in Florida. Fred played
an active role in the formation of Heritage and continues as macro adviser to
the firm.
R. Ian McCarver
Ian McCarver is the Controller at Heritage Investment Group and has been with
the firm since 1994. Ian holds a bachelors degree from Florida State University.
He is an active board member of the local Rotary club and is involved with many
other community organizations in South Florida. Ian is a principal of Heritage,
and his roles include the preparation and presentation of quarterly portfolio
performance reports for client review, management of the firm’s internal
accounting systems and oversight of many administrative activities at the firm.
Anne B. “Sherry” MacLean, Esq.
Sherry MacLean is a founding partner of the law firm of MacLean & Ema and
Heritage Investment Group. Sherry holds a bachelors degree from Florida Atlantic
University and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Nova Southeastern University. Sherry’s
law practice is concentrated solely in the area of estate administration and she
is regarded as one of the premier estate administration attorneys in South Florida.
Sherry remains an active adviser to Heritage Investment Group.
Darryl L. Hinkle, CPA, CFP
Darryl Hinkle has been a member of Heritage Investment Group since 1997. Darryl
holds a B.S. degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. He fulfilled
his military obligation by enlisting in the US Army in 1969, and after graduating
from Officer Candidate School, served as a Lieutenant in the Artillery Branch
in both the U.S. and in Vietnam. His work experience includes that of a
staff and senior accountant with Coopers and Lybrand. Along with a Coopers and
Lybrand colleague, he formed the public accounting firm of Hinkle & Richter
in 1979, where he has been a partner since its inception. Mr. Hinkle is also a
Certified Financial Planner practitioner and in that capacity, assists clients
in financial planning and investment management projects. He is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and the Financial Planners Association. Darryl
has served on the FICPA committee for Financial Planning. He is a member
of the local Rotary club where he has served as President. He is also a
member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pompano Beach, and has served on the
Session, Trustees (President), and the Foundation of the Church.
Michelle Velie
Michelle Velie joined Heritage in 2002. Prior to working with Heritage Investment
Group, Michelle worked with the First Presbyterian Church in Pompano Beach as
the Financial Secretary. Michelle is a key member of the operations department
at Heritage where she is responsible for the coordination of information shared
between clients, custodians, investment managers and Heritage.
Tracy McCarver
Tracy McCarver is the newest member of Heritage Investment Group, joining the
firm in 2003. Tracy holds a B.A. degree in Education from Florida State
University and is a licensed schoolteacher of mathematics. Tracy has brought her
mathematics background to Heritage and applied it to the area of trading.
Tracy’s responsibilities at the firm include supervision of trading activities
and compliance reporting.
Cynthia Manner
Cynthia Manner is the receptionist/office administrator at Heritage and is responsible
for organizing the seminars and presentations that are offered by the firm. Her
strength is in organizing and keeping the office running smoothly. She attended
Broward Community College in 1972 and completed her B.A. in 1999 from the University
of Central Florida in Organizational Communication. She also holds an A.A.
in Business Administration and Management. She is a member, event organizer,
and chairperson for community service projects for the local Ft. Lauderdale High
School class of 1972 Ladies Group and volunteers for other various charities.
Kim Zeman
Kim Zeman joined Heritage Investment Group in December 2006. Kim has a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. Kim started her career in financial services as a sales assistant for a municipal bond broker before beginning a twenty year career with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc... In addition, Kim has experience working in the brokerage division of a private bank and a registered investment advisory firm. Her industry knowledge and experience contribute to the operations, marketing and compliance areas of Heritage.
